Environment Notes

AI accessnetwork requirements

Being able to open an AI tool is not the same as being able to complete a task. The home page may load while the login callback takes a different route; a prompt may send successfully but the response can stop midway; the browser may work while the command line cannot connect. Troubleshoot account eligibility, network paths and individual applications separately rather than attributing every issue to connection speed.

Region checks: exit location is only one factor

Services may determine eligibility using the exit IP, account region, payment details and organization settings, and their policies can change. Before choosing a route, check the service's official list of supported regions and terms of use. A network connection cannot grant account access or change a platform's service availability rules. If you see a region notice, verify your actual exit location and consult the official guidance instead of repeatedly switching regions to see what works.

IP risk checks: a consistent route is easier to troubleshoot

Shared exit IPs, unusual request patterns or logins from different regions in a short period may trigger additional checks. However, a CAPTCHA or failed login alone does not prove that an IP has been restricted. A better approach is to use an exit location that meets the service's regional requirements, interact normally, and then check the browser session, account notifications and error message. After changing routes, verify the exit IP rather than changing your browser, account and client settings all at once.

Persistent connections: check the full response, not just page load

Streaming responses, code completion and task status updates depend on connections that stay open. Some features may use event streams or WebSockets, and interruptions, device sleep or missing proxy rules can affect them. Test by sending a real request, checking that the response completes, and retrying in the same environment. U6VPN uses military-grade encryption to protect connections; access permissions and feature availability are determined by each platform.

Tool Comparison

Tool and Route Requirements

The table below highlights what to check when choosing a route; it is not a guarantee that a tool will work. A dedicated route, relay or direct connection alone does not prove that an exit IP meets a platform's policies.

Tool × Route Requirements
ToolRoute requirementsWhat to checkHow to test
ChatGPTSupported region; consistent routes for login and conversationsAccount eligibility, login callback and streaming connectionSign in and check that a response completes normally
ClaudeStable exit IP; all relevant requests routed through the proxyRegion notices, session checks and continuous outputCheck for notices and submit a normal prompt using a fixed exit IP
GeminiRegion match; consistent routing for Google account requestsAccount region, organization permissions and login redirectsVerify account eligibility, then test chat
CopilotUsable network paths for authentication and extension requestsWeb authorization, IDE extension and organization accessTest the web app and editor autocomplete separately
MidjourneyContinuous access to task updates and image assetsWeb or Discord route, task permissions and asset loadingDistinguish submitted tasks, processing delays and image download failures
CursorConnectivity for both the editor's background process and login callbackProxy inheritance, model access and background requestsTest login, chat and code completion separately

For ChatGPT and Claude in a browser, check what happens after login succeeds. If the interface loads but a response never starts, check whether a local extension, routing rule or network device is blocking requests. If the platform shows an account restriction, follow its process rather than treating a route change as a way to remove the restriction.

Gemini access may depend on the Google account type, region and management settings. With Copilot, distinguish the web assistant from GitHub Copilot: the latter also relies on extension authentication and organization access when used in an editor. Some login steps may happen in a browser, but subsequent requests do not necessarily share the browser's proxy settings.

For Midjourney, check task processing separately from image display. On the web or in Discord, a successful message send does not mean image asset domains are reachable. Cursor can also have working chat but failing autocomplete because different features may contact different services. Use official documentation and actual client logs to identify the required domains; adding a rule for the home page alone may not be enough.

Account Access and Login Checklist

Before login: check eligibility

Review supported regions, account types and organization requirements. Make sure your browser allows the required cookies, scripts and redirects, and that your device clock is correct.

During login: keep the same exit route

Keep the network environment consistent from the authorization page through the callback. If the client opens a system browser to sign in, check the route on both sides so authorization can return to the app.

After login: test a task

Open the feature you need and complete a normal request. Keep the original error message. For account reviews, access permissions or payment issues, use the platform's official support process.

Repeatedly refreshing the login page, resubmitting verification or opening sessions from different regions makes troubleshooting harder. If verification keeps recurring, stop retrying, check for platform notifications and follow the official advice to wait or restore the session. Before clearing site data, make sure important information is saved; clearing all browser data should not be the default step.

Your U6VPN account is separate from your AI tool accounts. U6VPN does not require an email address; you can create an account with a username and password. This does not mean ChatGPT, Claude or other tools use the same account requirements. A network subscription does not include memberships, model access or API credits for those tools.

Request Notes

Web Apps vs. APIs: Key Differences

Web apps rely on browser sessions, page scripts and login state. APIs typically send requests from a program to a service endpoint using separate keys and project permissions. Being able to chat on the web does not mean API access is enabled, and a successful API request does not mean a web account includes a particular membership feature. Check credentials, model access, billing status and supported regions separately.

When troubleshooting an API, first check whether the platform returned a response. DNS resolution failures, connection timeouts and TLS handshake errors usually point to the network path, certificate trust or proxy configuration. Clear authentication, quota or permission errors instead call for a review of project settings. Rate limits may depend on the model, account, organization or concurrent requests. A rate-limit message alone does not indicate an exit IP problem, and rotating exit IPs should not be used to evade platform policies.

Streaming API behavior also depends on how the client reads responses. The client must keep consuming the response, use appropriate timeouts and handle interruptions according to the application. If you use a self-hosted reverse proxy, check its buffering and connection persistence settings. For billable or state-changing requests, confirm whether the platform accepted the previous request before retrying to avoid duplicate tasks.

Process Notes

CLI, IDE and CI Configuration

Command line: check which proxy the process actually uses

Enabling the system proxy does not guarantee that terminal programs will use it. Check whether the tool or SDK reads proxy environment variables, requires an explicit proxy argument and supports your proxy protocol. Use the address and port shown in your local client rather than fixed values from an online guide. After changing settings, restart the relevant process and test connectivity with a request that contains no sensitive information.

Also check rules that bypass the proxy. If a domain is on a direct-connection list, its API requests may go through your local network even when other traffic uses the proxy. In a container, a localhost address points to the container itself, not the host system. Check network egress separately for containers, virtual machines and remote development environments; a working host browser is not a substitute for those tests.

IDE extensions: distinguish the interface, extension and remote host

Developer tools such as Copilot and Cursor may use different processes for authentication, chat and autocomplete. Check editor settings, extension documentation and logs to confirm that the proxy applies to the process making the request. In remote development, an extension may run on the remote host; local client network settings usually do not apply to requests made remotely.

Certificate inspection on corporate networks can also cause connection failures. Configure the trusted certificate chain as required by your organization and ask an administrator to confirm the policy; do not hide the problem by disabling certificate checks. If web authorization succeeds but the editor still shows you as signed out, check for a blocked callback, the account linked to the extension and whether organization access has taken effect.

CI: treat each runner as a separate environment

A CI runner has its own exit IP, environment variables and secret storage, so a successful local test does not prove the pipeline will work. First confirm that the runner's region meets platform requirements, then configure networking and protected variables according to the CI provider's documentation. Keep only the error details needed for troubleshooting in logs; do not print full request headers. Automated requests should respect service quotas and rate limits, with sensible failure handling to prevent retry loops from making an issue worse.

Issue Notes

Common Errors and Their Causes

The home page loads, but login keeps returning to the same page?

First check whether the login page and callback use the same exit route, then review cookies, content-blocking extensions and your system clock. Retry through the official login page and keep the error message. If the platform requires an account review, follow its process; changing routes cannot replace that review.

The response starts, then stalls or reports a connection error?

Possible causes include an interrupted persistent connection, a sleeping device, a client timeout or a platform-side issue. Keep the exit route unchanged, reproduce the problem with a simple request, and check the browser and client network logs. Compare routes in the same region only after ruling out account and application issues.

The web app works, but the terminal or editor extension cannot connect?

First check whether the process inherits the proxy, runs in a container or remotely, and whether a direct-connection rule excludes the target domain. Browser connectivity only confirms that the browser's own path works. After changing settings, restart the relevant process and test login and application requests separately.

Seeing a region not supported, rate limit or account disabled notice?

Handle each notice separately. For a region issue, check the official service area and actual exit IP. For rate limits, review quota, concurrency and request frequency. If an account is disabled, check the notification and use the official appeal channel. Do not infer the reason for an account action from a single message or try to evade restrictions by switching routes.

Can you submit a Midjourney task, but images never load?

First determine whether the platform is still processing the task or whether the image is ready but cannot load. Check the status shown on the web or in Discord, then verify that asset requests use the correct route. Task permissions, platform queues and asset connectivity are separate issues; repeatedly resubmitting the task is not a substitute for checking them.

Choosing a Route

Choose a region first, then compare routes

For everyday web chats, start with a region supported by the platform, keep the exit IP fixed, and test login and a complete response. For coding assistants and API development, make sure the process sending requests uses the right network path. For long-running tasks, check how the connection performs over time. Different tools do not have to share one exit IP, but keep the environment consistent throughout each login and task.

When comparing an IEPL dedicated route, a relay and a direct connection, test them in the same region with the same tool under similar conditions. Route types describe how traffic is carried; they do not determine tool access or rank connection speeds. Keep a record of errors and configuration changes, and adjust one factor at a time. This usually makes it easier to find the cause than switching regions repeatedly.
